Keys 429 - 431 A big Heart and some busted glass

I was thinking I'd have 600 keys by Valentine's Day...that's not looking very realistic. Maybe 450 is a more achievable number for that deadline. And yes, I am still going to make 5000 keys. And no, I don't have a timeline/deadline for this other than to say I am thinking in terms of years and not decade(s). And yes the keys will not be jewelry. And no, I don't know where this will take me or what the keys will look like. I just make keys. Here are the latest three...

Key 429 one side

Key 429 is made from a golden shuffleboard pole, some silver metal chain (you know, the type used on a basement light pull or a bathtub plug - there's probably a name for this practical and useful chain I just don't know what that name is), a piece from a big silver bracelet (that's the bit near the end), a piece of a drawer pull from a very old Singer sewing machine cabinet (that's the piece on the very end), and the bottom of a silver heart box. This box is filled with shattered glass (from a car window that I found on the road near my house), a few sparkly pink beads (that you can barely see in the picture of the other side or in real life but trust me they're there), and lots of resin to hold those broken bits in place.

Key 429: a big, broken heart box filled with shattered glass, and laced with sparkly beads. Must be some deeper meaning in this key somewhere!

Key 430 one side

Key 430: doesn't look as key-like as most of the other keys but I like it. I particularly love the broken ball on the top end; the missing bits provide more flavour, more history, more mystery, more character...this key has a past even if it is mostly shiny. The "lock" piece on the end is from a chain that was possibly a belt (because that's a pretty large chain link for a necklace) and the beautiful sparkly this-picture-doesn't-capture-it bit on the other side is part of an earring.

Key 431 one side

Key 431 has an interesting older broach on the one side, along with some blue beads and rhinestones; and a pearly link to an older bracelet on the other side. The base is a spray-painted (brass and chrome) stainless steel terminal (military pin/cable clamp) and an off centre bracelet.
