Mini-Milestone! Keys 2700 - 2708

Happy to reached another mini-milestone in my key-making journey!

Key 2700 is made from a Christmas decoration that you can see in an undismantled version in Key 2657. The main shaft is a slot screwdriver, the bottom contains a sewing machine attachment, and the top is made with bracelets, earrings, other jewellery bits, and a continuous amount of small beads and sparkly confetti that I kept adding and adding to try and balance things out.

Key 2701 is a substantial key made with yet another part of those easels that I rescued from the office trash several years back and large pieces of upcycled jewellery. The other side has a vintage brooch. the chain around the brooch was initially neatly done but it got damaged/altered (unintentionally by me) in the resin coating process. Sometimes I think the keys are better/have more personality if they’ve gone through things…Also some pretty fancy stones that were cuff links in a previous life on the bottom of that Other Side - perhaps that balances out the imperfection now visible at the top?

Key 2702 is made with a dart, hoop earrings, watch guts, and a cap from an alley that has the loveliest patina from being outside for an extended period of time…those things that have been worm by life are the most interesting!

Key 2703 uses an abundance of washers that i found on various roads - i seem to find washers more than anything else - some gold rings, bits of sewing machine attachments, upcycled jewellery and other supplies, and a worn out toonie that someone spent at a garage sale I had in May…

Key 2704 is made from sewing machine attachments, an Allen wrench, and various bits of upcycled jewellery. I spent a lot of time on this one - I really wanted to make it look like the parts on the One Side in particular belonged/were part of the key.

Key 2705 is made from a variety of jewellery bits, another sewing machine attachment, and a spoke from a bicycle.

Key 2706 is made from a drill bit, a fork (the curly circles on the top are the tines), jewellery bits, and a smashed up clip I found ground into Broadway Ave near the Junior Cafe on 10th Street.

Key 2707 is made from another drill bit, some fancy gold bits from the upcycled craft supply store, more jewellery bits from my supplies and a vintage brooch.

Key 2708 is made from a bicycle spoke, road finds, jewellery bits, another sewing machine attachment, and two vintage brooches. i painted the back of the brooch on the One Side to better show off the brooch on the Other Side.
