Moving Right Along: Keys 2727 - 2733
After spending most of January in a cough and cold that didn’t want to end I am - once again - finally back at key making! Here’s what I‘ve come up with:
Key 2727 is made from a gifted brooch, a gifted drill bit, and parts of old watches.
Key 2728 is made from a beautiful kilt pin my husband gave me (for key-making), some sort of shiny bolt thing, jewellery bits, chain, part of a sewing machine (bobbin holder?), watch bits, and the most lovely rusty patina on a round metal bit that I no longer remember where it came from.
Key 2729 is made from a Christmas decoration, jewellery bits, fancy gold cutlery ends, and the shaft of a light fixture that I covered in beads. It is quite a large key (almost 13” long) and very sparkly in real life!
Key 2730 is mostly made of cash register parts with some jewellery bits and watch bits added in.
Key 2731 is made from a brass disc, a Phillips screwdriver, a dismantled decoration, watch straps, a key, jewellery bits, and a copper bird that was recently gifted to the key-making project.
Key 2732 is made from cash register parts, a sewing machine foot, chain, gold jewellery bits, and an old watch face cover.
Key 2733 is another large cash register key. This has bits of jewellery, small brass tumblers from a locksmith, and stainless steel number pins that were designed to stick into screens in the days when people took down screens and put up storm windows at the end of summer.
