After the questioning a pay-off: Keys 2745 - 2748
Sometimes I question what I’m doing (i.e. “why can’t I be normal and just paint landscapes?) and sometimes — like with the Other Side of Key 2748 I am amazed at the key creations that have flowed through me.
Here are my latest keys:
Key 2745 is made from an interesting bit of road find my husband gifted to me, jewellery bits, and springs from that cash register I took apart last summer.
Key 2746 is made from more cash register parts (yes I think those gears are cool!), sewing machine bits, and more jewellery bits.
Key 2747 is made from a broken pair of hoop earrings, my grandmother’s brooch, a colourful drill bit that was gifted to me, many metal charms, and of course jewellery bits.
Key 2748 is made from a dichroic pendant that I used to wear, part of a bracelet from a dear friend, a key bit, jewellery bits, and my grandmother’s earrings (that match the brooch in Key 2747). The Other Side has bits of cut up charms…this Other Side almost didn’t happen…I was tired and didn’t think I had anything left in me but I kept going. I am so amazed by the results - when I look at this Other Side I am reminded of a coat of arms or something equally regal and am so happy that scraps of discount charms from a thrift store have come together so well. I also like holding this key and turning it over — a little treasure to transport my mind away on an adventure.
