Cash Register Parts: Keys 2734 - 2737 and Another Attempt at Key 729

While working on keys made from cash register parts I came across a flexible gold bit (bracelet? necklace? I’m not sure) that I thought would be perfect for Key 729…Key 729 was created in the fall of 2016 and while many people have admired it I’ve always felt the bottom part overshadowed (or imbalanced) the top part. After a few weeks of niggly thoughts about using that flexible gold piece around the top of the key, I decided to take it to the studio and rework it. The new part looked ok but the whole thing looked even better when I added the chunky gold chain that was also sitting on my worktop. Funnily enough, when I took the revised Key 729 to a recent market it didn’t seem to get much notice at all - a big change from the constant consideration it received at previous markets. Go figure.
