Ending the Year with Light: Keys 2725 and 2726
My Christmas gift this year was participation in a Turkish Mosaic Art lamp workshop - something I’d seen advertised in eastern Canada - I was very happy to learn this opportunity was coming to my home town of Saskatoon and that I’d get to go to it!
Naturally I decided to incorporate some “keys” into my design.
The workshop was very well organized, the instructors were helpful and fun, and the materials were of good quality. I thought it was great value and I am very happy with my lamp - even though I’d do some things differently next time like:
pay attention to the contrast between the design of the main pattern and the beads around it (I choose some light coloured beads that blended into the light coloured Key 2725)
take the time I need (I rushed at the end because I was worried about how long I was going over the allotted time - even though the instructors were telling people they were fine to wait for people to finish)
be careful to not wash off so much grout…
I’m hoping these folks come back - I’d love to make another lamp, maybe not with keys, but maybe with some design thinking in advance.
